Nycholat Consulting is a family business consultancy operated by Steve Nycholat and his son Josh. Together, Steve and Josh help businesses optimize their resources, build a strategic vision, and plan for the future.
Our Team
Steve Nycholat
Steve Nycholat is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sasuchan Development Corporation, the Economic arm of the Takla Nation. Before joining Sasuchan, Steve spent six years as Pacific Regional Manager of Allnorth Consultants, responsible for six divisions providing engineering services to the Pulp & Paper, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors. Prior to that, Steve was General Manager/CEO for TDB Consultants for 17 years, working in forestry consulting and contracting. Steve’s experience has also led him to serve as the chair of the College of New Caledonia’s Finance and Audit Committee.
Steve‘s education includes a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), a diploma in forest technology from the College of New Caledonia (CNC) and a Blackbelt in Lean continuous improvement. Steve is an active community supporter and has been a coach for the UNBC JDC West entrepreneurship team since 2012. Steve also served on the City of Prince George’s economic development corporation board from 2011-2014, and has volunteered in food service at St Vincent de Paul from 2005-2013.
Josh Nycholat
Josh Nycholat is a highly skilled management, investor relations and capital markets consultant with extensive experience managing capital raises up to $1 billion in size for companies around the world. Currently consulting with irlabs and through his own practice, Nycholat Consulting, Josh leads organizations through complex financial transactions, capital raises, mergers, and acquisitions. With over 50 successful engagements to his name, Josh brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the NCI team.
Josh holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, dual majoring in Finance and Marketing. He is a problem solver who has engaged in several projects in the areas of Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Strategy. His consulting journey began with assisting small businesses in northern B.C. with financial and strategic objectives, providing him with a solid foundation of experience in the field.
Josh has also gained valuable experience in operations and strategy consulting during his time at Bell Canada, where he tackled complex strategic challenges. Additionally, he has experience in private equity from his role at Silver Maple Ventures (FrontFundr Financial Services). Furthermore, Josh is a published academic author, with his most notable contribution being in the Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy.
Josh has diverse consulting experience across many industries and organizations, enabling him to bring a truly global perspective to the Nycholat Consulting team.
